Pedro Páramo is a magical realism drama based on the 1955 novel by Juan Rulfo. The story follows Juan Preciado, a man who, after promising his mother on her deathbed, travels to the remote town of Comala to meet his estranged father, Pedro Páramo. Upon arrival, he discovers the town is deserted, populated only by spectral figures. As Juan encounters mysterious souls, he uncovers the dark and tragic history of his father’s ruthless pursuit of wealth and power. Set during the Mexican Revolution, the film explores themes of life, death, and the consequences of unchecked ambition.
